Mean Green Energy Boosting Smoothie – Toddler Approved!

When it comes to dinnertime and green vegetables…there is no winning against a toddler. There have been many battles, mostly ending in tears (on both sides of the fight!) Enter in the green smoothie – the perfect way to trick your toddler into eating their greens!! Now, not every flavoring combination will work for every kid; some might like fruit while others, like mine, like chocolate.

I have been making myself green, chocolate protein smoothies for years and the day that Logan asked to try mine, was the day the clouds parted and the sun finally started to shine again. Hey Mikey, he likes it!!! Yes, I know this all sounds very dramatic – but it actually sounds like someone is cutting an appendage off my child when he is told that he needs to eat a string bean. Seriously. Long story short, I’m very glad that I have found something he will drink, that will provide some greens throughout the week!

I have turned this smoothie into my go-to for breakfast; it’s packed with protein, greens and deliciousness. A mason jar (32 oz) of this will last me through the whole morning, until I’m ready for lunch. (It’s also awesome for taking your vitamins with; it blocks the flavor of anything less than desirable)

This protein and energy-packed smoothie will keep you full for hours and feeling great!!!

  • Vitamix / High Speed Blender

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Coconut Water I absolutely love Naked Juice Coconut Water
  • 16-20 oz Water
  • 1 bag Fresh Spinch
  • 1 Frozen Banana using a fresh banana is fine, just not as cold!
  • 2 servings Orgain Chocolate Protein Powder (4 scoops) (you can use your favorite kind, this is mine!)
  • 2 tbsp PB Fit Chocolate Peanut Butter Powder
  • 1 tbsp Spirulina Powder
  • 1 tbsp Moringa Powder
  • 1 tbsp Ground Flax
  • 3 tbsp Hemp Hearts
  • 1/4 cup Oats
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cinnamon optional
  • 4 oz Brewed Coffee optional
  • 1-2 cups Ice

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to your blender and mix until blended
  • Enjoy!

If I make a large batch, I will freeze in freezer-safe jars to be enjoyed at a later time!
